Skins only allow solid colors; It is not possible to add transparencies, except for the second layer of the helmet, which is transparent by default. This can be used to add glasses, hats, cigars, hair, mustache, or other accessories (even a bigger head) .i

Change character skins

PC

You can only change the look if you have purchased Minecraft. It is done from the profile page, uploading a valid .png file, which will replace the current appearance. The steve.png file from minecraft.jar can be overridden, but in that case only the player will see the changes himself.

NOTE: Some aspects are version specific, indicating that 1.5.1 will not work in 1.8. this does not

Xbox 360 and PS3

There are 8 default skin types (excluding skin packs), all featuring Steve's face, but with different clothing. The following are available for split screen and single player only. It can be chosen in 'Change appearance', within 'Help and options'. In console editions, skins with transparencies are allowed, because you can't create your own, so there is no danger of people with totally transparent skins.

Create a look

Some players want a new look, something that identifies them. There is always the option of searching the Internet for some aspect (skin) that is already done, but many players prefer to create it themselves.

A custom look is allows you to add a touch of your style to your gamer model, to do so you can always use a skin editor created by the community or edit the file "steve.png" manually with an editor like Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.net or other similar editors. The file "steve.png" can be downloaded here. When editing manually, be sure to keep the original dimensions and erase the background (unused or uncoloured pixels). Otherwise, Minecraft may not recognize the file when you upload it.

On the other hand, some people find it easy to use a program, either downloadable or from the browser, that allows you to view the model in three dimensions while editing your model. Covers

HR layers they are a distinctive item worn by the player in addition to appearance.
