Obtaining
Honeycomb and hives
A jar with honey can be obtained by using a glass jar in a honeycomb or hive with a honey level of 5. Doing this enrages the bees inside and attacks the player, unless there is a campfire or other block on fire under the nest or hive.
A dispenser with glass jars can be used to collect honey without angering the bees. The jar with honey appears as an item in the dispenser inventory.

Easier
To drink a jar with honey, press and hold use while it is selected in the quick access bar. Drinking one restores 6 () hunger points and 1.2 saturation points. Consuming the item also has the advantage of removing any poison effects applied to the player. Unlike drinking milk, other applied effects are not eliminated by drinking a jar of honey.
Jars with honey can be drunk even with a full hunger bar. Drinking a jar with honey takes 25% longer than eating other foods (2 seconds) and has a unique sound.
